Description:
Written by Christi Jones with lyrics by Cody Raven Morris, Don’t Calm the Storm begins in the heart of turbulence, capturing the feeling of being swept into a storm both literal and emotional. At its center lies the message that instead of calming the storm, we must calm ourselves—an idea that opens the door to the piece’s next section of peace and resolve. The work concludes with a thoughtful nod to the original hymn The Storm Is Passing Over by Charles Albert Tindley, bringing the journey to a reassuring close.
