Description:
Released in 1993, the rock ballad is one of the biggest hits of American singer and rock actor Meat Loaf. Even after his death in January 2022, he is known for his vocal power, wide range of voice, and theatrical performances. Agnes Haßler arranged this extensive rock ballad and created an atmospheric arrangement for five-part mixed choir, which gains complexity towards the end with short solos by mezzo-soprano, tenor and baritone. In particular, the melody wanders through the three middle voices. A very demanding piece, which is not only characterized by various tempo changes and provides that something certain and a "rock drama" in the concert program.
