Description:
Mas que nada' (roughly: 'Oh, what the heck?') was composed in 1963 by Brazilian musician Jorge Ben Jor and appeared on his album Samba de esquema novo. The world hit became famous in the interpretation of Sérgio Mendes, to whom it is also often attributed. Among the numerous cover versions that were to follow is one by Dizzy Gillespie and Ella Fitzgerald, as well as an extremely successful version by the Black Eyed Peas in 2006, which shows how timeless the evergreen is! The lively rhythmic arrangement for mixed choir by Bernhard Hofmann is simply fun and makes you want more!
