Description:
The Mass in C minor K. 427, Mozart's "Great Mass", is a torso - a circumstance that is extremely regrettable, especially in view of the monumentality of this work. Following his sensational reconstruction of Mozart's Requiem K. 626 (1991), Robert D. Levin, who has devoted himself to Mozart's compositional oeuvre in a special way as a scholar and international concert pianist, has succeeded in reconstructing and completing another important work, the Mass in C minor. His edition makes it possible to perform this central work of church music as a liturgically complete, full-length mass. (Of course, the Werktorso can also be performed with the edition).
