The Mass «a la moda valenciana» by Sebastián Durón is written for 10 voices distributed in three choirs. The first choir is for two soloists sopranos. Precisely, the epigraph «a la moda valenciana» seems to refer to this particular formation, since many composers active in Valencia in the XVIIth century and beginning of the XVIIIth century composed several works for 10 or 12 voices «en duo», that is, polichoral works with the first choir intended for two soloists.
