The Mass op. 36 by Charles-Marie Widor in our arrangement for one organ only (BU 2277) has been firmly anchored in the repertoire of numerous church choirs for many years. When the Erfurt Cathedral choir was recently looking for a festive work for a high mass on the occasion of the inauguration of the new central console, the obvious idea was to have the part of the 1-2-part baritone choir sung by the upper voice choirs. Following the magnificent premiere of this arrangement in September 2023, the work is now open to all choirs looking for a festive ordinarium that can be performed by the SATB choir together with an upper voice choir (children's choir, women's choir, youth choir). This powerful-sounding work will also provide an unforgettable experience for younger singers. For the audience anyway...
