Description:
This Ordinary, which at first glance appears to be unusually scored, is aimed on the one hand at choirs singing in mixed three-part harmony, who do not wish to sing in the direction of an upper voice movement with a further reduction in the number of voices, and on the other hand at SATB choirs, who on certain occasions (which now often include high festivals) can only perform with a limited choir size, but still wish to remain usable in 'mixed' scoring. Despite its vocal two-part nature, the mass is designed for a 'full sound', to which the keyboard accompaniment (organ or piano) also contributes. The work can be rehearsed in a very short time - not least due to some canonically scored passages. Stylistically, the mass is unabashedly in the Romantic tradition, although occasional excursions into the tonal world of our English neighbors are evident and intentional. An extremely appealing work - not only for times with 'reduced personnel'.
