Die 'Missa latina' ist eine vollständige lateinische Messkomposition für Solo-Sopran, großen gemischten Chor (SATB mit Stimmteilungen sowie Chorsoli) und eine Band, bestehend aus Violine, Bandoneon (Akkordeon), Klavier, Kontrabass, Drums und Percussion. Das Wort 'latina' bezieht sich dabei nicht bloß auf den lateinischen Text, sondern verweist auch auf die musikalische Stilistik, die sich an lateinamerikanischen Rhythmen orientiert. Elemente des argentinischen Tangos stehen dabei neben karibischen Rhythmen und Latin Jazz, wobei Instrumental-Improvisationen ebenfalls Raum finden.
