Commissioned by the Tallis Scholars in 2022, ‘No Resting Place’ is a 25 minute setting of Lamentations, verses 1-5, interspersed with short fragments of interviews from the Windrush Generation. The verses are largely meditative with traditional structures and long, melismatic melodies and imitative counterpoint occasionally complicating the texture.
