Description:
Between 1835 and 1837, the young Bruckner wrote one of his first sacred works, a Pange lingua in C major (WAB 31/1). In 1891, as a mature composer living in Vienna, he reworked this short piece from his youth (WAB 31/2). A direct comparison of the two versions - completed more than half a century apart - provides an exciting insight into their similarities and significant differences.
