Description:
Raua needmine (Curse upon Iron) by Veljo Tormis is undeniably one of the most powerful, intense, and fascinating masterpieces in contemporary choral literature. Composed in 1972, this monumental work unleashes an archaic, almost shamanic primal energy that captivates singers and audiences alike from the very first beat. Scored for soloists, mixed choir, and compelling percussion, the piece invokes the mythical origin and destructive potential of iron in a thrilling anti-war statement. Published by Fennica Gehrman, this choral score features the text in both the original Estonian and in English. An absolute highlight and a tour de force for ambitious choirs looking to deliver an unforgettable, highly emotional concert experience.
