With "Salutation", renowned Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds presents a moving and evocative work for unaccompanied mixed choir. Setting profound English verses by the Bengali Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore (1861–1941) to music, the piece unfolds a meditative, sonorous atmosphere filled with spiritual depth. Originally commissioned by the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, this composition seamlessly combines Ešenvalds' signature harmonic richness with a sensitive text setting that captivates singers and audiences alike. Published by Musica Baltica, this choral score is an outstanding addition to ambitious concert programmes for both sacred and secular performances – a mesmerizing masterpiece of contemporary choral music that offers ample space for expressive vocal artistry.
