Shchedryk (wörtlich übersetzt 'großzügiger Abend') ist ein ukrainisches Neujahrslied. Das Lied fand mit einem anderen Text als englisches Weihnachtslied ('Carol of the Bells') weite Verbreitung. Fredo Jung schrieb dieses wunderbar melancholisch-schwungvolle Arrangement für das Folk-Song-Projekt des Calmus Ensembles (CV83034). Der Satz ist sowohl für Ensembles als auch für gute Laienchöre machbar.
