Singen wir zur Weihnacht

There is hardly any other time of year when people sing as much as they do during Advent and at Christmas. This is especially true for choirs, so it’s no surprise that choral composers and arrangers are highly knowledgeable in this genre. It was very important to Alwin Michael Schronen to compile his numerous arrangements—as well as his special compositions, created over many years of working with choirs—into one comprehensive collection.

This choral book, *Singen wir zur Weihnacht* (Let’s Sing for Christmas), now features 55 choral pieces for mixed choir a cappella, which will enrich every concert, devotional service, church service, and performance at Christmas or Christmas markets with wonderful choral works penned by Alwin M. Schronen.

The selection ranges from popular and well-known Christmas carols from England to Christmas spirituals from the U.S., traditional Christmas songs from France, numerous German-language classics, and lesser-known gems. In addition, this special collection includes timeless classics from these genres as well as new compositions. Schronen’s unerring sense for singability across all vocal ranges allows ensembles and choirs to rely on the high quality of the arrangements, providing them with a rich source of new repertoire. In addition to the wide range of pieces ranging from easy to moderate difficulty—some of which are available in different language versions—the collection also includes several more challenging arrangements. All songs equally convey the joyful message that is also the intention of this choral book: Let’s sing for Christmas!

Arranged, adapted, and composed for mixed a cappella choir. Softcover.
