Description:
The choral work "Sol Justitiae" by British composer Alec Roth is a radiant composition for four-part mixed choir a cappella. The work was composed in 2010 to mark the 450th anniversary of Solihull School and sets a Latin text praising Christ as the "Sun of Righteousness".
The music is characterized by its rhythmic vitality and a particularly bright, harmonic colourfulness. Roth succeeds in creating an atmosphere of great clarity and spiritual energy, alternating between dense chordal clusters and dance-like rhythms. Thanks to its tonal brilliance and subtle interpretation of the text, "Sol Justitiae" has earned a firm place in the repertoire of contemporary chamber choirs and is ideal for festive occasions and concerts with a focus on light.
