Description:
Solidaires, for choir, is a work by Swiss composer Jean-François Michel based on a text by Pierre Savary, which celebrates the values of mutual aid and fraternity with simplicity and strength. Through images of everyday life - from working in the mountains to common gestures of daily life - the text describes solidarity as a natural and essential matter of course. The music emphasizes this collective dimension through a warm, flowing and accessible choral writing that supports the unity of the voices and the clarity of the message. The alternation between descriptive passages and unifying refrains ("À deux, à sept, à huit...") reinforces the sense of cohesion and shared effort. The work also emphasizes a more committed dimension and calls for the spirit of mutual aid to be preserved in the face of indifference and withdrawal. Accessible to many ensembles, Solidaires touches as much by its sincerity as by its universal message, reminding us that the power of the collective remains at the heart of every society.
