Description:
Immerse yourself in the evocative and captivating sound world of Ēriks Ešenvalds with his piece "The Cloud" for unaccompanied mixed choir. Inspired by the delicate, lyrical poetry of American poet Sara Teasdale (1884–1933), this composition unfolds an atmospheric breadth and emotional depth that enchants performers and audiences alike.
Commissioned for the prestigious Nordklang 16 festival in Turku, Finland, in August 2016, the work masterfully captures the floating, weightless essence of a cloud through sophisticated vocal writing and lush harmonies. Published by Musica Baltica as a high-quality choral score with the original English text, "The Cloud" is an exquisite addition to any discerning concert repertoire. An unforgettable highlight of contemporary choral music!
