The impressive song cycle "The Passing Of The Year" by British composer Jonathan Dove is a work for two mixed choirs and piano. In seven movements, Dove sets poems by renowned authors such as William Blake, Emily Dickinson and Alfred Lord Tennyson, which deal with the cycle of the seasons and the passing of time. Composed in 2000, the work captivates with its enormous rhythmic energy in the piano part as well as the sonorous, often double-choir arrangement of the vocal parts.
