Description:
With "There Will Come Soft Rains", renowned Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds has created a profoundly moving masterpiece for advanced choirs. Based on the evocative poem by Sara Teasdale (1884–1933), the piece unfolds a mesmerizing soundscape of timeless beauty, melancholy, and hope. Scored for an unaccompanied eight-part mixed choir (SSAATTBB), it weaves floating harmonies, delicate dynamic nuances, and atmospheric colors into a deeply emotional concert experience. Commissioned by the University of Louisville Choral Department and Kent Hatteberg, this composition is a true highlight of contemporary choral literature. Published by Musica Baltica, this choral score is an essential centerpiece for ambitious vocal ensembles and captivating concert programmes.
