Description:
This short motet was composed in 2014 and first performed the following year by the choir of King's College Chapel, Cambridge. It sets a selection of verses from the Psalms which reflect on God's creation and one's place within it: 'I will consider the heavens: the moon and stars which thou has ordained … If I climb up to heaven, thou art there; if I go down to hell, thou also art there …' The text is brought to life with vivid contrasts of tempo, dynamic and vocal texture. Especially suited to services of choral evensong and also to other sacred and concert performance settings.
