Description:
With "Ubi Caritas," the renowned Latvian composer Rihards Dubra presents a deeply moving masterpiece of contemporary choral literature. This setting of the traditional Latin text captivates with floating harmonies, meditative stillness, and the poignant, luminous sound that is so characteristic of the Baltic choral tradition. Scored for five-part mixed choir a cappella (SSATB), the composition unfolds a fascinating spiritual depth. Its sensitive, multi-layered voice leading offers ambitious choirs and vocal ensembles wonderful opportunities for tonal brilliance and nuanced dynamic expression. Published by the esteemed edition Musica Baltica in a clear choral score, this work is an exceptional highlight for both sacred services and demanding concert programs alike.
