Description:
The work "Warning To The Rich" by Swedish composer Thomas Jennefelt is a highly energetic composition for six-part a cappella choir from 1977. The text is based on the biblical letter of James and formulates a drastic warning to the rich in the face of social injustice. Jennefelt uses repetitive rhythmic patterns, explosive dynamics and a dense tonal language to achieve an almost hypnotic and at the same time stirring effect. The piece is one of the most important works of contemporary Swedish choral music and places high demands on the rhythmic precision and expressiveness of the ensemble.
