Living Next Door to Alice was written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman and became a worldwide hit in 1976 for the English band "Smokie." \r
In 1995, the song re-entered the charts thanks to the version titled "Who The Fuck is Alice?" by the Dutch band "Gompie." For our German choral arrangement, we used the lyrics by Olaf Berger, who incorporated this line—"Wer, verdammt, ist Alice?" in his 1996 song. The German lyrics are slightly more modern than those of the original German version, "Tür an Tür mit Alice," sung by Howard Carpendale. Our choral arrangement can be performed with piano accompaniment or a cappella.
