Description:
Western Note is a Carnatic song from the Indian musical tradition that was written to appeal to westerners. The ear-worm of a melody is set here by Vineel Garisa Mahal with dance-like rhythms, gamakas (or ornamentations), and playful part-writing. This work and its solo are challenging, but multiple resources are available to help make this accessible to your choir. A true showstopper that will bring the house down!
