Description:
This edition of 10 children's songs for (children's) choir and wind orchestra is not only intended to remind children of the traditional songs of the German-speaking world, but is above all a basis for cooperation between music clubs, choirs, elementary school and kindergartens. In addition to the unique orchestral experience that can be offered to the young and young-at-heart singers, this concept also includes an unobtrusive introduction to instruments, as children discover the variety of instruments that can be used in a wind orchestra all by themselves during the joint rehearsal.
Musical stylistic diversity (classical-pop-swing) has been given great importance in the arrangement of the selected songs.
For the organization:
It has proven to be advantageous to divide the 10 songs among different school classes, kindergartens or existing choirs (mixed choir, women's choir, men's choral society, etc.), as this minimizes the rehearsal effort of each participating group. In this way, the project can be realized with just a single rehearsal (orchestra and choirs) and, if cleverly organized, can bring together many musical performers from a town, community or city in a joint performance. Projecting the lyrics onto a screen using a projector and inviting the audience to sing along has also proved successful.
If you are interested in a complete project with a (semi-)staged performance, set construction etc., please contact the artist Rupert Hörbst. www.hoerbst.net.
