100 rubies is inspired by the unwavering will that our young band musicians and their support staff show year after year, - in good times and in bad times. When the Mandal boys' band turned 100 years in 2009, thoughts turned to how many experiences and challenges that generation after generation have handled in all these years. The march was created as a tribute to all these years and to the important role of the band. Not least, one is filled with gratitude and admiration for what time in the band means to the individual.
Each year can be seen as a small gemstone, and over the course of 100 years there will be many small gemstones, - or rubies if you will.
