Description:
These "two German dances" are from a series of 12 minuets and 12 German dances that Ludwig van Beethoven wrote in 1795 - during his time in Vienna - for the renowned "Ball of the Society of Fine Artists". This ball was an important social event that took place annually in Vienna. With his dances, Beethoven laid an important foundation for the development and popularity of the Viennese waltz.
