Description:
A Time There Was, was composed after being commissioned by the Trumpet Corps of the Royal Dutch Military Police. The piece is chorale like in character and was initially intended for memorial like concerts. It is also suitable as a quiet interlude in your concert. At the end of the piece the opening of the Dutch hymn "Hours, Days, Months, Years” is quoted, referring to the transient nature of existence.
