Description:
With the "Alpweg Polka," trumpeter and composer Markus Waltner presents his second composition—a musical tribute to a golden autumn day in the Alps. The arrangement is by Michael Kuhn, a veteran master of Bohemian brass band music composition, who lends the piece its warm and authentic timbre. At the beginning, the tenor horn and baritone trumpet evoke the early morning with a soulful melody as the sun slowly rises over the mountains. Soon afterward, the sound of cowbells, audible from afar, fills the valley—it’s time for the cattle drive. The music depicts how the herdsmen round up their cattle and lead them down the alpine path together until the animals return to their home stables. An atmospheric polka full of a sense of home, images of nature, and Bohemian charm.
