Description:
In 1976, the St. Vitus Music Band and the Hanazono High School Band met for the first time at the Youth Festival in Harrogate. Since then, the two orchestras have enjoyed a close and long-standing partnership. Regular reciprocal visits to Japan and Germany have led to numerous friendships between the musicians over the years. 25 years later, a friendship with Harmonie Laura from the Netherlands also developed through the personal connection of two members. On the occasion of these two anniversaries, the commission for a three-movement work was created, which musically expresses the joy, the solidarity and the growing community of the ensembles. The first movement is characterized by festive brass sounds. In the second movement, a calm, chorale-like theme unfolds, which becomes increasingly dense through the gradual introduction of further instruments. In the third movement, a central theme expresses the shared joy in a lively manner.
