Description:
Strauss composed the 'Annen-Polka' in 1852 to celebrate the day of St. Anne. This polka was quite popular right from its premiere in 1852 when the Viennese newspapers reported as follows: 'Johann Strauss had a nice present to all Anna, Ninas, Nanys, Nettchens etc, with his last polka, which he titled Annen-Polka in their honor. The audience liked it so much because of the fascinating, melodious and appealing melody. There were numerous requests to hear it again and again.'
