CHESS, the musical, composed by B. Ulvaeus and B. Andersson with lyrics by T. Rice opened in London's West End in 1986. The story involves a romantic triangle between two men, an American and a Russian competing in a world chess championship, and a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other. Anthem is one of the most popular songs from the musical where Anatoly sings about his country's heart.
