Description:
In the march «Babylon», it is used themes from Bellmans song no. 41 from Fredman's song Joachim from Babylon. The song is inspired by the biblical story of Susanna in the bath, where the figure Joachim is Susanna's husband. Bellman uses the biblical story as the basis but gives it a humorous and satirical tone typical of his style. The Composer have a free attribution to the material, but in the introduction, in the middle movement and in the trio, Bellmans melodies are easy to trace. Babylon is the first of three marches, based on Bellmans tunes.
