Description:
A brindisi (Italian for "toast") is a drinking song. This term is often used in opera literature - a toast is intoned and the ensemble responds in a "chorus". One of the best-known drinking songs comes from the opera "La Traviata" by Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901). While in the original Violetta (soprano) and Germont (tenor) perform this song - accompanied by a symphony orchestra - in this version a flute and a flugelhorn (at the request of the Stadtmusikkapelle Liezen - Chairman: Michael Fröhlich. Kapellmeister: David Luidold) can perform as instrumental soloists and then be celebrated. They will be accompanied by a brass band. So, cheers!
