Description:
Brout was commissioned by Jane Westervik and Krohnengen Brass Band for KBB Ung.
A famous Norwegian folk tune is used in this fun piece. It's about a he-goat that was stolen and slaughtered.
The fanfare parts (beginning and ending) with quite dense chords are based on the best-known version of the song. It is a major key.
The up-tempo funky part in the middle is based on a minor key tune. The bassline and the rhythms works as a rhythmic engine rather than control the harmonic language in a traditional understanding.
