Description:
This short version of the Carnival di Venezia was commissioned by the Stadtkapelle Liezen - Kapellmeister David Luidold, Obmann Michael Fröhlich. The idea behind this short version is as follows: At annual concerts of music clubs, the youth wind orchestra is also allowed to perform one or two numbers from time to time. On the one hand, this is a way of presenting the club's own young musicians, and on the other hand, it also brings new audiences (parents, grandparents) to the concert. For the kids, the performance should be one thing above all: a very motivating moment, because they get to play "with the grown-ups" in the same concert. It can be even more motivating if the youth wind orchestra presents one or two of the main themes from the "grown-ups'" concert program in advance. In a simplified version, of course. The aim is for them to hear a fuller, longer version immediately afterwards. This should provide additional motivation to be able to play the whole piece as soon as possible in the concert of the "big ones". This compact version for Flex-4 instrumentation can be optimally combined in a concert with Johann Strauss Sohn's Artists' Quadrille, for example. The audience will love it, after all, Niccolo Paganini's simple theme has probably made it into the "Hall of Fame" of the most famous motifs in music history. So they will hear this melody played once by the "little ones" and immediately afterwards by the "greats". Better safe than sorry ;)
