Ceremonic Festival entstand für den Musikbezirk Silz in Tirol (Österreich) und erlebte im Rahmen eines großen Musikfestes im Juli 2021 seine feierliche Premiere. Der auftraggebende Musikverband wünschte sich eine Komposition, die von vielen Orchestern gespielt und im Rahmen von Gesamt- und Massenchören eingesetzt werden kann. Entstanden ist ein symphonisches Werk, das durch die unverwechselbare Handschrift des Autors einmal mehr Tradition mit Innovation verbindet. Die Philosophie Martin Scharnagls, unterschiedliche stilistische und musikalische Elemente miteinander zu vermengen und zu verschmelzen, um dadurch etwas einzigartig Neues entstehen zu lassen, wird auch bei "Ceremonic Festival" auf besondere Art und Weise erkennbar: Choralartige Passagen stehen filmmusikalischen Themen gegenüber; traditionell konzipierte Melodien werden in erfrischend-moderne harmonische Gewänder gekleidet. All diese Zutaten schaffen ein durchweg positiv-optimistisches, vorwärtstreibendes Werk, das sich für Aufführungen im Kleinen wie im Großen gleichermaßen eignet und jedem konzertanten oder kirchlichen Anlass den Charakter einer festlichen Zeremonie verleiht.
