The culture of the Cossacks includes wild cavalry and weapons games as well as rousing dances and moving, melancholy songs. During a trip to Russia, composer Franco Cesarini was inspired by the beauty of the songs and traditional dances to create an arrangement for wind orchestra that authentically captures the spirit of this fascinating music.
