Dancing Queen was written by Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Stig "Stikkan" Anderson, and released as a single in 1976. The group began recording the song on August 4th 1975, and the earliest demo version had the working title Boogaloo. Anni-Frid Lyngstad recalls: "Dancing Queen is my favorite among ABBA songs. I remember Benny coming home with a tape of the backing track and playing it for me. I thought it was so incredibly beautiful that I started to cry." The song became one of ABBA's greatest international successes and remains their only number-one hit on the U.S. Billboard chart.
