Description:
Days Gone By is a calm, lyrical composition for wind orchestra. The work deals with memory, transience and nostalgia. Gentle woodwinds open the composition and create a warm, restrained sound atmosphere from which a vocal trumpet melody gradually develops. In the middle section, two new musical ideas are introduced, which initially appear alternately and are finally performed together by two solo instruments. The timbres intensify briefly before the music returns to the opening theme. Days Gone By ends calmly and thoughtfully, leaving an impression of inner peace and timeless remembrance.
