Deutschlandsberger Suite

Commissioned by the Stadtkapelle Deutschlandsberg

The composition owes its foundation to two components in particular: Firstly, the idea of generating musical motifs from the letters of the town's name. It was important to me not to change the order of the letters (sounds) in order to be able to create a coherent musical logo as the end product. The historical aspect that the extension of the name by the addition of "Deutsch-" was only added to Landsberg later is also taken into account in the structure of the composition. Secondly - as a kind of subplot - the music should also tell a story about the town and its inhabitants, as well as about the landscape and nature.
