1. Of Celts, Romans, and the Black Forest in All Its Glory.
Dedicated to the city of Badenweiler on the occasion of its 1,950th anniversary. The first movement of the Grand Wind Orchestra Suite is a concert fantasy that depicts the beginning as an idyllic, peaceful forest region, which is subsequently settled by the Romans and Celts, who then go to war with one another. The piece ends with a solemn chorale, which musically represents the temple built to commemorate the peace that was achieved.
