Description:
An interesting program piece (fantasia) for wind orchestra, composed for the St. Marienkirchen bei Schärding band. The work is based on the legend surrounding the construction of the parish church, in which an image of the Virgin Mary, as a sign of divine guidance, determines the correct location for the church. The composition consists of eight interconnected movements: The Departure, The Journey, The Image, God’s Call, Reprise, The Magic, The Completion, and The Finale. An interesting piece for band competitions that presents the orchestra with a variety of challenges. Due to the complex melodic lines, the score is laid out in A3 portrait format!
