Description:
This striking opening composition by Matthias K. Weber for symphonic wind band combines powerful sonorities with intense expression. Despite its brevity, the work unfolds a wide musical spectrum and demands both technical precision and tight ensemble playing.
The "Horizon" symbolizes the pursuit of something yet to be achieved, while the "Echoes" refer to what has already passed and cannot be changed. This contrast is reflected in the structure: a monumental opening, a middle section exploring new soundscapes, and a broad, orchestral reprise that culminates in a compact and decisive ending - symbolizing the arrival at the imagined horizon.
