Description:
Alongside Franz Lehár, Emerich Kálmán is considered one of the most successful composers of the so-called "Silver Era" of Viennese operetta. His greatest successes include "Die Csárdásfürstin" and "Gräfin Mariza". The best-known titles from both operettas are combined in this potpourri. The "Wiener Operettenorchester" performed this compilation for the first time as part of the New Year Concerts 2007 in the "Metropolitan Hall Tokyo" to great applause from the audience. This arrangement was adapted for wind orchestra and performed for the first time in 2016 in Graz's Stefaniensaal. In this arrangement, the wind orchestra shows itself to be a sensitive accompanist to the solo singers, but also shines with snappy and groovy interludes. A "must have" for your concert program for a detour into the era of Viennese operetta. Professional singers are obligatory (microphoning of the soloists).
