Description:
Philipp Fahrbach jun. dedicated this march to Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Este.
The arranged edition for modern wind orchestra is an expansion of the original score for military music in the instrumentation of the time: Piccolo in C, Clarinetti in A flat and E flat, and Clarinetti 1 - 4 in B flat; Corni 1 - 4 in F; Bombardon u. Helicon; 1st and 2nd Flugelhorn in Bb; Bahsflügel and Euphonion; Piston in Eb; Trombi 1 - 5 in Eb, and 6. In the B-flat clarinets, Fahrbach usually notated the 2nd and 4th clarinets cola parte (sounding the same) with the 1st and 3rd clarinets.
The score for military music and individual parts for string orchestra from the Vienna library served as sources, whereby this is probably a copy (arrangement) by a different hand. Both editions are in B flat and E flat major.
A recording for string orchestra can be listened to at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PudvcQeNKqQ.
March book format.
