Description:
Composition commissioned by the Bernese Cantonal Music Association BKMV as an assignment piece for the 4th class for the 23rd Cantonal Music Festival 2014 in Aarwangen. Composed in three connected parts, the work opens with a heroic theme that stands for the "battle". The second movement is very calm and reflects "peace". The work closes with a joyful, songful dance (Gigue). The strength of this composition lies in its simple execution and its compact, variable instrumentation.
