Description:
The piece has a traditional structure with the first two sections composed in American-march style. During the trio, in a typically austere spacious English march style, the march gradually fades, before gradually increasing in volume and redeveloping the main theme. Trumpets and trombones support this development whilst the woodwind section frameworks the whole with a series of rapid figures.
