As the title suggests, the play is about a young eagle's first attempts at flight. At first, we enjoy the spectacular view from the eagle's nest, our gaze sweeping over the breathtaking mountain panorama. But soon the young eagle's wings are itching and he prepares for his leap into the void.
He is already flying through the air at breakneck speed, the updrafts and downdrafts mastering his still somewhat awkward movements... but this doesn't detract from the fun. With time and practice, however, the eagle's skill improves until it finally glides majestically over mountains and pastures in its usual eagle-like manner in the calm middle section.
However, the calm is short-lived: a thunderstorm announces itself with the distant rumble of thunder. It is not long before the storm arrives in full force and gives our eagle a real hard time. He struggles through the rain and wind until the sun finally breaks through the clouds. The storm disappears as quickly as it arrived and in the final part, our friend flies elegantly and majestically into the evening sun again, heading straight for his next adventure...
