Description:
The Brenz, a tributary of the Danube, is not only a scenic landmark, but also the namesake of the small but fine brass band Brenzblech. The river meanders through the districts of Heidenheim and Dillingen and, with its calm course, characterizes the idyllic town of Gundelfingen - the musicians' home and source of inspiration.
With the title "Against the Current", Brenzblech flugelhorn player Andreas Buchmeyer presents a march statement that is far more than just a composition. It is a musical declaration to go one's own way, to honor traditions, but at the same time to courageously dare to try something new. Just as the Brenz takes its course without allowing itself to be swayed, the formation sees itself in the same way: independent, full of character and undeterred - always ready to consciously swim against the current.
